2. Purpose of the Website - No Contractual Offer

The Website serves exclusively to provide general information about ETAF, its training programmes, services, missions and the Atlas victim management system. The content of the Website does not constitute a legally binding offer to conclude a contract of any kind. Contracts regarding training courses, services, equipment or any other performance by ETAF are concluded exclusively through separate, individual agreements and are governed by the terms agreed therein. Any presentation of services or products on this Website is a non-binding invitation to contact us.

The information published on this Website - including but not limited to information on Disaster Victim Identification (DVI), forensic procedures, training content, protocols and operational practices - is provided for general informational purposes only. It does not constitute, and must not be relied upon as, professional, forensic, medical, legal or operational advice for any specific case or situation. Forensic and DVI operations must only be carried out by qualified and authorised professionals in accordance with the applicable laws, regulations and official standards of the respective jurisdiction.

4. Intellectual Property

All content on this Website - including texts, photographs, videos, graphics, illustrations, logos (in particular the ETAF word/figurative mark and the red-dot symbol), the Atlas brand and related materials, the ETAF Training Compass, layout and design - is protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws and is owned by ETAF gGmbH or used with the permission of the respective rights holders.

Any reproduction, distribution, modification, public display, transmission, storage in retrieval systems or other use of Website content beyond viewing it in the browser for personal, non-commercial information purposes requires the prior written consent of ETAF, unless such use is expressly permitted by mandatory statutory law (e.g. the right to quote). The removal or alteration of copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices is prohibited.

Photographs and videos on this Website document professional forensic training exercises and international missions. Depicted scenes - including simulated casualties, training mannequins and exercise scenarios - are staged training situations unless expressly stated otherwise. The imagery is published for documentation and information purposes and is edited with respect for the dignity of all persons involved. Any use of this material outside the Website, in particular any use out of context, is prohibited without our prior written consent (see Section 4).

We prepare the content of this Website with great care and endeavour to keep it accurate and up to date. However, we do not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the content provided. Statistical figures (e.g. number of experts, missions or training courses) reflect the status at the time of their last update and may change. Content may be modified, supplemented or removed at any time without prior notice.

8. Limitation of Liability

ETAF shall be liable without limitation for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health caused by an intentional or negligent breach of duty by ETAF, its legal representatives or vicarious agents, as well as for other damage caused by intent or gross negligence and in cases of mandatory statutory liability (e.g. under the German Product Liability Act).

For damage caused by simple negligence, ETAF shall be liable only in the event of a breach of a material contractual obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment is essential for the proper use of the Website and on whose fulfilment the user may regularly rely), and in such cases limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of use. Any further liability for simple negligence is excluded.

Use of the Website is at your own risk. ETAF is not liable for damage to your IT systems, loss of data or other damage resulting from downloading or using content of this Website, unless such damage was caused by ETAF intentionally or by gross negligence.

This Website contains links to external websites of third parties (e.g. partner organisations, OpenStreetMap, LinkedIn). We have no influence on the content of external websites; the respective provider or operator is solely responsible for their content. At the time the links were created, no legal violations were apparent to us. We do not adopt the content of linked websites as our own. Should we become aware of any legal violation, we will remove the respective link without undue delay.

If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the exclusive place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising from or in connection with the use of this Website is the registered seat of ETAF gGmbH.
